Ayurvedic view
Hypertension has no single universally accepted one-to-one classical equivalent. Contemporary Ayurvedic discussions interpret it through concepts such as Raktagata Vata, Siragata Vata, Vyana Vata, Raktavaha Srotas and Avarana, with individualized assessment of Dosha, Dhatu, Agni, diet and lifestyle.
Integrated perspective
Modern medicine provides precise BP measurement and cardiovascular risk assessment, while Ayurveda offers an individualized framework focusing on diet, lifestyle, mental balance, metabolism and circulation.
